COVID-19 latest: 24 more deaths, but active case numbers head in right direction
Victoria has recorded its most deadly COVID-19 day in more than a week.
In the past 24 hours, 24 people have died with the virus.
21 of those 24 deaths have links to aged care.
It comes as Victoria recorded 149 new COVID-19 cases.
It’s the fifth day this week the new case figure has been in the 100s.
There are 578 Victorians in hospital with COVID-19, 39 of those receiving intensive care.
Sixteen of those 39 are on ventilators.
There are 3488 active cases of COVID-19 in Victoria.
That figure was 7155 this time last week.
