GAME DAY: Collingwood v Carlton at the MCG | 3AW Radio

Carlton has ruined Collingwood’s 125th anniversary by running away with a 23-point win.

Dale Thomas finished with 20 touches and a goal against his old side.

Carlton backman Sam Rowe did a fantastic job on Magpie forward Darcy Moore.

‘The vibe is pretty good around the place at the moment,’ Rowe told 3AW after the game.

Carlton leads a scrappy game by 18 points.

Early rain has made things tough for both sides, but the Blues are handling the conditions better.

3AW analysts Jimmy Bartel and Leigh Matthews were impressed by young Blue Sam Petrevski-Seton.

‘He’s kicked two goals in a low-scoring game,’ Bartel said.

‘He’s been in all their scoring chains. When everyone’s fumbling around him, he’s got composure.’

Collingwood CEO Gary Pert spoke to 3AW before the clash.

He said the club isn’t thinking about when it will re-sign coach Nathan Buckley.

‘For us it is all about winning the next game, and the next game, and getting to 12 or 13 wins,’ he said.

Carlton’s Head of Football Andrew McKay spoke to 3AW before the match.

He said the team knows how important this match is to the fans.

‘They say: win two games per year. The Collingwood home game and the Collingwood away game!’ McKay said.

Collingwood has made a late change.

Daniel Wells (managed) is out, with Tim Broomhead coming in.

Carlton is unchanged.

Do AFL blockbusters get any bigger than this?

These two traditional rivals both sit at 2-4 after inspired upset victories last week and now come head-to-head in front of a bumper crowd at the MCG.

Will Scott Pendlebury and the Magpies stellar midfield tear up the opposition for another week?

Or can Patrick Cripps lead the Blues’ young brigade to what would be the sweetest of wins?

Tune in to 3AW Football all day with the biggest and best names in the game!
