RUMOUR CONFIRMED: Victorian restaurants are turning to technology to protect them from the financial cost of ‘no-shows.’

It comes after The Rumour File revealed a country pub had been left in the lurch at the weekend after its entire bistro had been booked out by a group of bikies.

They didn’t show up. has released its annual ‘no-show’ report, revealing it had banned 38,000 Australians from being able to book tables online over the past year.

John Hart, CEO of the Restaurant and Catering Industry Association, told Ross and John the cost of people not honouring bookings was bigger than some might think.

‘A restaurant can lose all of its profit if it gets two no-shows a week,’ he said.
