Survey finds half of Australians have ‘unfavourable’ view of Indonesia
A new survey has found Indonesians to be a lot more fond of us, than we are of them.
Almost half of more than 2000 Australians surveyed viewed our northern neighbour unfavourably, according to the report.
More than half viewed the country as unsafe and unclean.
Comparatively, 87 per cent of 2103 Indonesians interviewed said they had a favourable view of Australia.
Paul Ramadge, Director of the Australia-Indonesia Centre, told Ross and John he believed many Australians simply misunderstood the country and didn’t know enough about it.
